This online course explores the lives and ministries of Methodist women—both ordained and unordained—who answered God’s call to preach, lead, and serve across the centuries. From early pioneers like Sarah Crosby and Mary Bosanquet Fletcher to transformative figures such as Jarena Lee, Sojourner Truth, and Maud Jensen, participants will examine how women have navigated calling, authority, resistance, and recognition within Methodist traditions.
Through historical case studies, primary sources, and theological reflection, learners will engage key questions of vocation, ordination, and justice—while considering how these stories continue to shape the church today. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of Methodist identity and practical tools for affirming and supporting women’s leadership in their own ministry contexts.
